Marin Alpine Trail XR MTB Dual Suspension Bike 2021

The Alpine Trail is a 29” wheeled full suspension bike built for the all day enduro rider that earns their downhill fun.

Key upgrades from Alpine Trail 7:

• RockShox Lyrik Ultimate/Super Deluxe coil suspension
• Shimano SLX/XT drivetrain
• FSA Gradient crankset

SUSPENSION SETUP

• REAR SHOCK SETUP:

Recommended Sag = 30%/19.5mm

• Step 1: Check the coil rate chart. If you are close to the correct rate, go to step two, otherwise swap the spring for one with the correct rate (not provided).
• Step 2: Sit on the bike and note the sag. On a RockShox-equipped bike, this can be seen on the shock shaft. You will likely need someone to help you.
• Step 3: If sag is less than 30%, back off the preload ring on the spring one turn at at time. If sag is more than 30%, increase the preload on the spring. (Note: Never preload coil more than five turns).
• Step 4: Adjust rebound setting to ensure proper control.

• FORK SETUP:

Marin recommends that all bikes front and rear suspension feel balanced

• Step 1: After rear sag is set follow the recommended pressure from the fork manufacturer.
• Step 2: Bounce evenly up and down on the bike, cycling the suspension up and down to make sure both front and rear suspension feel balanced, if the front does not match the rear add or release pressure.
• Step 3: Once the bike feels balanced adjust the rebound damping to ensure proper control.
