The hubs with USB (Ultra Smooth Bearings) ceramic bearings further increase wheel smoothness and reduce weight and maintenance. 2:1 Two-to-One™
At the moment when the rider pedals at full power, the rotation of the cassette causes the spokes on the freehub side to give way, resulting in a loss of rim tension. This causes excessive bending of the whole and this inevitably means a loss of energy. Fulcrum has solved this classic problem in cycling with its 2:1 Two-to-One Spoke Ratio patent, that is, with twice the number of spokes in critical areas. In this way, two spokes take over the task of one, the yielding and twisting of the wheel remains low and the transmission of the athlete's energy becomes much more efficient. Thanks to this patent, the spoke tensions are more balanced and the fatigue strength of rim, hub and spokes is much higher.
AC3™ All Conditions Carbon Control
For years, braking with carbon rims was the subject of studies and technical updates that followed advances in materials research and end-phase machining processes. AC3 is a further step forward in this direction, and makes remarkable braking possible especially in difficult conditions, moments in which such improvements transform cycling.
Fulcrum has decided to alter its approach to machining the braking surface, moving from a mechanical process to a process that uses laser micro-incisions on the surface to remove resins and smooth roughness. This means that the the brake shoe makes direct contact with the fibre during braking, which improves grip and removes water and moisture from the surface, immediately providing ideal riding conditions.
