Shimano's AM9 MTB SPD Shoes are their comfort offering for gravity riders; battle the toughest descents with confidence and control in the AM9. Their midsoles are equipped with a generous amount of EVA foam and revised shank plates, striking the delicate balance between pedaling efficiency, hike-ability, and pedal feel. The EVA foam construction greatly reduces the weight of these gravity shoes whilst the aggressive tread pattern at the toe and heel provides excellent traction.
Extended cleat pockets dubbed the ‘Pedal channel’ provides more stable platform between shoe and pedal when not clipped in. Armoured lace shields also provides an additional layer of protection from loose rocks and debris.
