Frame and Suspension

For the frame parts, Marin San Rafael DS1 is equipped with a Series 2 Dual Sport frame. Hydroformed aluminum and butted on sides make this frame become even stronger and more durable. The frame is also designed to match the DS Geometry, which enables the riders to feel comfortable in an upright seating while actively pedaling. To integrate robust and comfort system at the same time, a SR Suntour NEX with 63 mm travel fork suspension is installed to the bicycle frame. Along with preload adjustment feature on the fork, this bike could absorb and reduce shocks occurred while riding on bumpy tracks and rough terrains.

Groupsets

The drivetrain of Marin San Rafael DS1 consists of 3-speed Shimano TY510 as the front derailleur and 7-speed Shimano Tourney series as the rear derailleur. As mounted on the bars, Shimano EF41 integrated shifter and brake levers are also outfitted on this bike to operate a total of 21 gear options. Mechanical brake system is installed on this bike with Tektro MD280 mechanical disc brakes with 160 mm rotor. The brake system provides smoother and more controllable stopping, along with minimal maintenance for this part.

Other Features

The wheelset of Marin San Rafael DS1 is accoutered with Kenda Kahn 700Cx40 knob tires which is combined with aluminum double wall rims and stainless-steel spokes. It also has forged aluminum alloy 32H hubs both on the front and the rear parts to center-lock the disc brakes. Furthermore, as this bike is very versatile – from dry and smooth to the wet and rough ones, its frame features easy mounting for additional accessories like fenders to overcome dirt splash or racks to carry your riding essentials.
