Kualalumpur – Polygon downhiller, Nurwasito, win third position on Men DH Elite KL Downtown 2008 race which is held on National Sports Complex Bukit Jalil, Kualalumpur, Malaysia, 17-19 Oktober 2008. Not like others downhill race, this KL Downtown 2008 was held on the middle of town with artifical obstacles and typical urban pathways. Start takes place in Bukit Komanwel, then declines to CG Globe, Zigzaggers, World Globe, Fast down, Pedestrian Bridge, Flat Out and finish at Star LRT terminal.
Contention during competition runs very tightening. When qualification session (seeding run) Nurwasito only placing in fourth position with 01 minute 39 seconds. On second day (final), Nurwasito successfully improve his time record with 01 minute 38.49 seconds. Automatically he entitled to sit in Hot Seat as temporary quickest time. Remains 3 riders which must go down at the next run, Mohd Herman (Malaysia), Seow Hock Cheng (Malaysia), and the last is Tan Hong Chun (Singapore).
Mohd Herman glides, but his time is not able to shift Nurwasito from the throne of Hot Seat. When arriving the next innings, Seow Hock Cheng simply can sharpen quicker one second from Nurwasito. And then Tan Hong Chun also successfully carves time 01 minute 37.99 seconds, but could not shift Seow Hock Cheng as the fastest rider. Tan Hong Chun finally reached for second position. The end result, Nurwasito also officially entitled as third champion of KL Downtown 2008, under Tan Hong Chun and Seow Hock Cheng.

Britain's Mark Cavendish is dropped on the final small climb as Spaniard Friere wins the 14th stage to open up his lead in the race for the green jersey.
Freire beat Colombian Leonardo Duque of Cofidis and Germany’s Erik Zabel (Milram) on the line. Cavendish was dropped on the final climb and finished the stage 108th, three minutes and 27 seconds back. With the Madison at the Olympics in Beijing a month away, he may pull out to have time to recover. The stage victory extended Freire’s lead in the points competition, making him the favourite for the green jersey as the race goes into the Alps.
